Yellowhead Trail flooded again

Parts of Edmonton’s Yellowhead Trail are flooded again, authorities are warning.

Police issued a warning about underpasses between St. Albert Trail to 170 Street, as well as 97 Street to 184 Street, around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Three vehicles were seen nearly submerged at the 127 Street and 127 Avenue underpass when CTV News Edmonton was at the scene around 4 a.m. Firefighters used a boat to rescue a person from one of the vehicles.

That intersection was closed to traffic, but police are also advising commuters to seek alternate routes.

“Crews are onsite and working to restore the roads,” the City of Edmonton said in a social media statement.

103 Street was also closed as of 6:30 a.m. between 98 and 99 Avenues due to a watermain break.
