Deadly altercation at tree farm west of Edmonton leads to murder charge

One person has been charged with murder after a death at a rural tree farm west of Edmonton.

When Mounties arrived at the farm in the Evansburg RCMP detachment area on Tuesday, they found the body of Robert Brett Macleod, 50.

The search began for a suspect, who police say had fled the area.

A 39-year-old Yellowhead County resident was subsequently arrested in Spruce Grove and charged with second-degree murder, dangerous driving, and flight from police.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21.
