Newfoundland man arrested in bed during an alleged break and enter

STEPHENVILLE — RCMP in Newfoundland have caught their man, who was catching some Zs during an alleged break and enter.

Bay St. George RCMP say they were called to a home on Gillis Street in the west coast town shortly after 9 a.m. Monday.

They were investigating a report of a break and enter — and of an unknown man fast asleep in one of the beds.

The Mounties arrested a 45-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to the detachment and released on conditions ahead of a future court date.

Police could not immediately be reached for comment and it’s unclear if the suspect was looking for a place to sleep or simply got tired during the alleged break and enter.
