City of Calgary hosting Emergency Services Career Fair this weekend

Calgarians wondering about careers in first response and public service can get an inside look this weekend.

The City of Calgary Emergency Services Career Fair will run Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, at the Multi-Agency Training Centre.

The two-day event will run between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.

According to the city, Saturday will focus on all interested Calgarians, and Sunday will focus on women specifically.

Each day, attendees will be able to learn about the agencies hosting the event, which will include:

• Calgary Fire Department;
• Calgary Police Service;
• ALTA Paramedic Health;
• Calgary Transit Public Safety;
• Community Safety (bylaw); and
• Calgary 911.

“This event gives people the opportunity to connect directly with our teams, ask questions, and gain a clear understanding of what a career in emergency services looks like,” said Tania Tyson, Calgary Fire Department recruitment officer.

Tyson noted the Sunday focused on women is an important part of the event.

“It’s about creating space for women to explore these careers, connect with those already doing the work and see themselves reflected in frontline roles,” she said.

This is the City of Calgary Emergency Services Career Fair’s third year.

The Multi-Agency Training Centre is located at 5705 23 Ave. S.E.
