Calgary Flames visit with fans at CrossIron Mills ahead of road trip

The Calgary Flames will head stateside this week for games in San Jose, Los Angeles and Anaheim.

The Calgary Flames will hit the road for three games this week.

But first, the whole team was at CrossIron Mills on Monday, taking a little break from the ice to meet fans and sign autographs.

“I’ve never done an event like this. … It’s great to see the fans come out and support us,” said Flames goalie Dustin Wolf.

“The best thing is seeing kids … and giving them a little signature, because you were that kid, one day hoping to get your jersey signed. So awesome to be able to give that.”

“This is the first time the full team has come out for an autograph session in some time, so it’s really exciting for us, and exciting for the Flames as well,” said Joel Tatlow, CrossIron Mills marketing manager.

“People come out for the Flames. They’re the biggest entertainment property in the city (and) we’re really excited to have them at CrossIron Mills.”

Fans lined up all over the mall at various stations to get a signature from their favourite players.

“I’m pretty pumped. Dustin Wolf is my favourite player,” one fan said.

“I’m going to get it framed after (and) put on my wall. It’ll be pretty cool.”

“I’ve loved the flames my whole life,” another said.

“I went to a signing a couple of years ago and waited in line for hours, so this is my second time doing it. Excited to do it again.”

The Flames have just 26 games left in the regular season.

The Flames are well back in the playoff race and know there could be some big changes heading into the March 6 trade deadline.

The road trip will take the Flames to San Jose on Thursday and then Los Angeles and Anaheim on the weekend.
