Brown, Goepper victorious in World Cup freestyle halfpipe in Calgary

CALGARY — Australian teenager Indra Brown continued her breakout season in women’s freestyle ski halfpipe with a victory, while veteran Nick Goepper of the U.S. took men’s gold in Calgary.

Brown, 15, has finished on the podium in each of the first three World Cups of her career and earned her first win at WinSport.

Kexin Zhang of China was second and Svea Irving of the U.S. was third among women. New Zealand’s Finley Melville Ives and Birk Irving of the U.S. took men’s silver and bronze respectively behind Goepper.

Canadians were held off the podium. Cassie Sharpe of Comox, B.C., was fifth and Calgary’s Amy Fraser sixth.

Calgary’s Dylan Marineau was the top Canadian in the men’s field in sixth.

Calgary’s halfpipe World Cup was the third of the 2025-26 season after the season opener in China and the U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, Colo.
