The ministry of labour immigration, training and skills development is investigating a workplace incident in Ramara Township. Provincial police received a call just before 10:30 a.m. today to an address on Simcoe Road, near Ramara Road 47, 30 minutes north of Barrie. It was reported that a man had fallen at the site. A statement from the ministry states “On September 22, 2026, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development was notified of an incident in Ramara. A ministry inspector is on site investigating.” ORNGE was summoned, however, the man’s injuries were not too severe, said Melissa Gowanlock, manager of communications with Ramara Township. “The patient was transported by land ambulance to Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital,” said Gowanlock.
