It was no joy ride for the police as a teenager zoomed across Bradford leaving mayhem behind him. On Saturday at 1 a.m. near Holland Street West in Bradford West Gwillimbury, South Simcoe Police heard about a youth on an e-bike who was causing a disturbance at a drive-thru business. Police were told the teenager was refusing to leave the drive-thru on his e-bike. He then grabbed the food and took off without paying. He was found a short distance away by police, but he took off again. On Sunday at around 6 p.m., police got another call about a teenager on an e-bike causing a disturbance at a store. Additionally, police were told he had been driving the e-bike too fast through a crowded public area. Police located the same teenager who once again took off on the e-bike. This time, they nabbed him and arrested him on the spot. Upon inspection of the e-bike, they found four unopened cans of alcoholic beverages. Police (figuratively) threw the book at him, and the 17-year-old Bradford youth was charged with: The youth was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court October.
