Police issue 46 tickets in one-day enforcement blitz

Police handed out 46 tickets in one day during a enforcement blitz.

On April 30, South Simcoe police along with OPP and the Ministry of Transportation were out catching drivers breaking the law in the Bob Fallis Arena in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

In addition to the tickets, authorities removed eight vehicles from the road as they didn’t meet safety standards for driving, which police say is 35 per cent higher than the provincial average.

They say they also made 23 vehicle inspections and removed two sets of licence plates.

Police say the main violations were unsafe tires and brakes, loads that weren’t properly secured, improper licence class and overweight vehicles.
