Emergency crews responded to what police are describing as a ‘serious’ crash in Mono Wednesday morning that resulted in two drivers getting hospitalized. In a 9:42 a.m. social media post, the OPP stated that Highway 89 was closed in both directions between 7th Line EHS and 5th Line EHS, and Airport Road (County Road 18) was closed in both directions between 30 Sideroad and 5 Sideroad. Dufferin OPP later confirmed that the crash involved a passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle, each occupied by a lone driver. Police say the passenger vehicle driver needed to be airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre, while the commercial vehicle driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. The OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit was called to help with the investigation. Police say they are looking for dashcam footage of the incident.
