Police and emergency services were called to the Five Points intersection shortly after 3 p.m. for reports of a stabbing. Emergency services have confirmed one male patient suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound. Police say a knife was thrown at him by another person. Simcoe County Paramedics took him to a local hospital. The incident was at Barrie’s downtown cross-section of Dunlop Street West, Bayfield Street and Clapperton Street, near the Delta Bingo & Gaming hall. Barrie police say the investigation is on-going, and they had not made an arrest by 5 p.m.
