Interested in aviation? Career event takes off ahead of Barrie Airshow

With the 2026 Barrie Airshow set to take flight next weekend, the city is helping residents explore careers in the aviation and aerospace industries through a free public event.

Next Wednesday, Flight Path to Careers in Aviation & Aerospace will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the General John Hayter Southshore Community Centre on Lakeshore Drive.

This event is part of the lead-up to the annual airshow and helps to connect students, job seekers and aspiring professionals with employment opportunities.

The city says attendees will have the chance to learn about career pathways from Georgian College and Lakehead University, meet with employers and hear from aviation professionals like the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

The day is designed to strengthen connections between industry, educators and future workers while showcasing the skills and training required for careers in the growing aviation and aerospace sectors.

Admission is free and pre-registration is not required.
