Four teens are facing a number of charges after police say they spent an evening committing crimes. According to province police, around 10:30 p.m. on July 28, provincial police responded to alarm at a business on Main Street in Huntsville, where windows had been smashed and a vehicle had been stolen from the property. Around 1:20 a.m. Bracebridge OPP say a resident reported a group of people trying to break into a vehicle on Maple Street in Port Carling, who ran off when the resident honked at them from their car. At 2:15 a.m. Bracebridge OPP say they responded to an alarm at a business on Lake Joseph Road in Georgian Bay Township, where another vehicle had been stolen from the property. Patrols began in the area and police say they came across the stolen vehicles on Carr Road in Port Carling, but the suspects had fled on foot. With the help of the OPP Emergency Response team and the OPP K9 unit, officers began to search for the four suspects. At 5:30 a.m. police say, the teens were arrested. Two 14-year-old boys from Huntsville now face multiple counts of charges of breaking and entering a place to commit indictable, mischief, theft of motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. Two girls, ages 14 and 15 were each charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 each. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identities of the accused are protected. All four are set to appear in court in next month.
