A high-risk offender police considered armed and dangerous has been arrested in Moncton, N.B. Codiac RCMP, members of the Emergency Response Team, and RCMP Air Services arrested 28-year-old Joshua Mabie in the city’s downtown around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Police say Mabie was wanted in connection with a weapons incident in Moncton on June 1, when he allegedly pointed a firearm at another person. “The man was considered armed and dangerous, and several specialized policing resources were deployed to safely locate and arrest him,” said the RCMP. Mabie has been charged with the following offences: Mabie appeared in Moncton provincial court on Friday. He was remanded into custody and is due back in court on Aug. 21. “The safe arrest of this individual was the result of careful planning and coordination between several specialized RCMP units,” said Cpl. Hans Ouellette of the New Brunswick RCMP. “Given the information available to investigators, every effort was made to protect the public while taking this individual into custody safely.
