Provincial police say emergency crews on the scene of a collision that shut down three lanes of a local highway. OPP say a Tuesday afternoon collision blocked two northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Highway 11 at Penetanguishene Road in Oro-Medonte. Police say the call for the collision came in shortly after 4 p.m. According the OPP, the collision involved a commercial van and two passenger vehicles. According to paramedics, two people have been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Residents are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes for the time being.
