You’ll need your sunglasses on Saturday if you’re taking in the fall colours to kick off the first weekend of October. While a crisp and cool air fills Simcoe County, the sun will warm your skin and shine all day with the temperature getting up to 17 C, according to Environment Canada. Don’t put away the sunscreen just yet as the national weather centre says the UV index is at 5 or moderate. It will be a solid Saturday night for stargazing with a clear canvas across the sky, but have a jacket and scarf handy as the temperature drops to a low of 6 C. Clouds will begin to roll in early Sunday, bringing with them a 60 per cent chance of showers later in the morning. Environment Canada says winds will come from the southwest gusting anywhere from between 20 kilometres per hour and 40 kilometres per hour. The daytime high will be similar to Saturday, with a high of 18 C. The UV index will drop to a 3 or moderate. It will cool off once again to that single-digit low of 6 C with a cloudy sky. Simcoe County residents and visitors can enjoy a fairly mild weekend before things cool down with more season temperatures next week.
