Drysdale’s Tree Farm hosts annual Easter Egg Hunt

Families enjoyed a tractor ride to a field full of easter eggs for Drysdale's annual Easter Egg Hunt

The 26th annual Easter egg hunt at Drysdale’s Tree Farms is taking place over the weekend.

Families of all ages are able to register for the event that includes a tractor ride, egg hunt, and various other avenues of entertainment including exotic animals and a magic show.

Doug Drysdale from Drysdale’s Tree farms said the event is a great way for families to spend some quality time together.

“The children are excited and most of them are. three, four, or five, they maybe haven’t been here, they don’t really know what to expect, but they know something’s going to happen and they’re going to end up with a treat bag and see some magic and, some other things,” said Drysdale.

Once registered, families enjoy a short tractor ride to a field covered in eggs. Eggs are colour coded by age so every child gets to collect.

Tractors will then take you back to the start where you can exchange the collected eggs for a gift basket and enjoy other entertainment.

Drysdale added he began the egg hunt after going to one with his kids.

“I went to one and it wasn’t that well run. I thought, I think I could do a better job and I hope I can, and we’ve been doing it. We have different wrinkles every year but everybody seems to enjoy it,” said Drysdale.

There is still time to sign up as the Easter egg hunt will continue on Saturday and Sunday with hunts beginning at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
