Driver and company charged after truck stopped with wrong licence plates

A commercial vehicle operator and their company are facing a slew of charges after they were pulled over by provincial police on Friday in Caledon.

According to Caledon OPP, officers from their Community Mobilization Unit (CMU) stopped the vehicle after it was having an ‘identity’ issue.

Police say there was no name on the vehicle and its licence plates were for a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The driver and company were charged with more than 20 offences and the OPP removed the vehicle from the roads.

Under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, those who are charged for driving with wrong licence plates could face fines up to $1,000, suspension of their licence, and possible jail time.
