Caledon OPP investigating Monday afternoon kidnapping

Caledon officers are investigating a kidnapping that happened on Maple Trail Road in Caledon on Monday afternoon.

Police in Caledon are investigating a kidnapping that took place in broad daylight on Monday afternoon.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), a victim walking along Maple Trail Road was approached by two suspects on March 23, 2026 around 3:35 p.m. Described as two males wearing black masks and hoodies, with one about 5’9” tall, they allegedly forced the victim into a grey Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.

The third suspect, the driver, wearing an orange high-visibility vest then drove east on Dougall Avenue.

The victim was found shortly after with minor injuries.

Authorities say this appears to be a targeted, isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
