Revving engines and classic cars were front and centre in the Bradford Greenhouse Garden Centre parking lot on Father’s Day as the Barrie Thunder Classics held their Father’s Day car meet. From classic cars in the 70’s and 80’s to modern luxury vehicles, families were able to walk the grounds, socialize and take pictures with their favourite cars. Volunteer Michael Bartley said the car show will end up being a weekly event. “We’re happy to do this today and we’ll be back here again on July 1st, as well as the Wednesday coming up,” said Bartley. “We’ll be back running an evening show here on that Wednesday as well.” Families were able to enjoy the day. “Lots of dads and lots of kids,”said Bartley. “Was really nice to see that family kind of event today which was nice to see.” The amount of kids at the event has Bartley convinced classic cars will be cherished for years to come. “It’s nice to see the younger generation, kids from five years old and on, particularly interested in the older model cars. I think there’s a fascination with them because the only time they might see that these days is in a mock up or a cartoon,” said Bartley.
