The mother of four children abducted by their father says the Canadian government was negligent in dealing with her case.

Alison Azer, from Vancouver Island, says her husband Saren took the children to Iran one year ago.

Azer says her lawyer in Iran told her that although her husband was arrested in June, charges put out by Interpol were dropped because the Government of Canada failed to contact Iranian officials.

She says she remains determined to get her children back and has collected thousands of signatures in an online petition calling for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's help.
