Woman injured by train after walking on tracks in Bedford, N.S.

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a train in Bedford, N.S., on Wednesday night.

Halifax Regional Police responded to the scene near the 960 block of the Bedford Highway around 8 p.m.

Police say two women were walking on the train tracks when they saw a train approaching.

One of the women was reportedly hit by the side of the train as she tried to move off the tracks.

The 24-year-old was taken to hospital by EHS with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they do not suspect foul play.
