A 51-year-old woman from Middle Sackville, N.S., was arrested after a traffic stop in Dartmouth on Tuesday evening for allegedly driving while impaired. Police say an officer travelling northbound on Highway 107 noticed a Ford Explorer swerving in its lane around 10:45 p.m. The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who reportedly exhibited signs of impairment. The officer took a breath sample from her, which resulted in a failure, and the driver was arrested. “She was transported to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment, where she provided two breath samples that registered 180 mg% each,” reads an RCMP news release from Wednesday. In Canada, the legal limit is 80 mg%, meaning 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. The driver is set to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
