The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming traffic delays on Barrington Street, between North and Nora Bernard streets, starting Monday. The work, which involves road maintenance and infrastructure work, is expected to be completed by late July, according to a news release. Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. “The project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions,” reads the release. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times, says the release. Drivers should expect delays and are being asked to use alternative routes where possible. Sections of sidewalks will be temporarily closed as work progresses and marked detours will be in place. The multi-use path along Barrington Street will not be impacted as part of this work.
