A residential fire in Cole Harbour, N.S. resulted in one person being treated by EHS. Halifax Professional Fire Fighters responded to the call around 10 p.m. Saturday evening at 1177 Cole Harbour Road. “Upon arrival, they were met with reports of smoke on the third floor and upgraded the call to a second alarm, bringing an additional 10 fire fighters to the scene beyond the initial 16 dispatched,” Brendan Meagher with Halifax Professional Fire fighters, told CTV Atlantic in a statement Sunday. “The first-arriving crew located a fire in a third-floor apartment and a resident who had been exposed to smoke. Our members assisted the resident from the apartment and transferred them to EHS paramedics.” Meagher says the fire was quickly brought under control. “We cannot comment on the cause of the fire until that information has been investigated and/or released by Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency. We also do not have information on whether any residents were displaced.” For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
