Man missing from Hillsborough Hospital spotted in Halifax: Charlottetown police

Robert Dwayne Kelly, 53, has been missing from Hillsborough Hospital in Charlottetown, P.E.I., since early May. Police confirmed Friday he has since been seen in the Halifax area.

Kelly was last seen by authorities on May 6 around 1:30 p.m. on Church Street in Cornwall, P.E.I., while on an escorted leave from the hospital, according to a May news release from Charlottetown Police Services.

“He left the area unnoticed by hospital staff,” reads the release.

Police have received multiple tips on possible sightings since then.

They were able to confirm Kelly was last seen in the Halifax area on May 7, according to an updated news release on Friday.

Kelly is described as five-foot-seven and 155 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a black sweater, grey pants and beige shoes.

Police say his appearance may have changed since his photo was taken.

A warrant of committal has been issued for his return. Police say there’s no indication he intends to harm anyone or himself but urge anyone who sees him not to approach him.
