Witnesses, dash-cam footage sought in East Village stabbing investigation

Calgary police are tapping the public for help as investigation of a serious stabbing in the East Village last week continues.

Friday, police put out a call for anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone who has dash-cam footage of it.

Violence erupted around 3 p.m. June 10, on 4 Street S.E. near 7 Avenue S.E.

Officers were called to the scene for a report of an assault with a weapon and found a 25-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

Police said at the time the victim was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Later that night, they said the victim was in serious but stable condition.

The following morning, police provided another update to say a suspect had been located and arrested.

Tyree Jordan Alexander, 26, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police said the victim and suspect know each other.
