For decades, Cory Tetford has been a constant on the Atlantic Canadian music scene. Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, many first came to know Tetford as a member of the band Crush. Since then, he has remained busy as a songwriter, producer, engineer and touring musician, working alongside some of the country’s most respected artists. Tetford credits his longevity to his love of the work. “I think I chalk it up to stubbornness,” said Tetford in an interview with CTV Atlantic’s Katie Kelly. “I love to work. I love music and I love the people that I get to hang out with.” Tetford currently plays guitar with Alan Doyle, while also producing and mixing records out of his own studio and performing his own material. “It’s a life of music,” said Tetford. “I’m one of the lucky ones, I think.” This month, Tetford is playing three sold-out shows at The Carleton in Halifax, a venue he says holds a special place for him. “This is my favourite room to play in the country - and likely the world,” said Tetford.
