East Coast Lifestyle has released a new collection in honour of battle rap legend Pat Stay. Stay was killed at a Halifax nightclub on Sept. 4, 2022. “The tribute collection is all about raising awareness for Pat Stay,” said Alex MacLean, who owns East Coast Lifestyle. All the proceeds from items sold in the collection will go to Stay’s family. “Some sizes are already sold out, which is great to see the support,” MacLean said. The line includes hoodies and T-shirts with “Pat Stay,” along with his birth and death date written on the chest, and a portrait of Stay on the back with “Wish you could stay” written below. The sleeve has “902 the world” written down it to represent Stay’s impact from Nova Scotia to the rest of the world. “We wanted to include his face on the back to really incorporate the ‘stay forever’ mentality,” MacLean said. “He will stay forever, he’s a part of this province.” The artwork done for the clothing was created by Nova Scotia artist Trevor Andrew. The collection is limited edition and available online on East Coast Lifestyle’s website or at their Bayer’s Lake store. “Pat was very supportive of our brand since day one, he was always asking for the new releases, coming to our different events and parties,” MacLean said. MacLean added it was meaningful to see someone he looked up to growing up wearing his brand. “It was so impactful to watch Pat Stay come from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and make an impact across the world,” he said.
