A 66-year-old man has been arrested for firearm offences in the Michael Crescent area of Saint John, N.B. The Saint John Police Force responded to a report of a man entering a residential wooded area with a long gun and firing off shots around 6:25 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived police say they located a man inside a shed who matched the provided description and arrested him. “A firearm and ammunition were also located inside the shed and seized by police,” reads a news release from the Saint John Police Force. The unnamed man was held in custody and appeared in provincial court Tuesday afternoon to face charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, and unsafe storage. He was released and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 22 for election.
