Advanced voting is taking place over the weekend for a byelection to elect three councillors in communities in New Brunswick. The byelection will elect one councillor-at-large in Grand Lake and two councillors in Lakeland Ridges for Ward 1 and Ward 3. Any eligible voter is able to cast a ballot at the advanced poll. The New Brunswick government says voters should have received their information card in the mail, which shows the location of their advance and ordinary polls. Polling station locations can also be found on the Elections New Brunswick website or by calling local returning offices. Advanced polls are open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The election day is set for Oct. 19, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. as well. Voters who are unable to leave their home or are hospitalized and unable to attend the advance or ordinary polls may ask for a special ballot to be brought to them by contacting their local returning office. People can vote by special ballot at any returning office until Oct. 19. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
