Thompson schools evacuated following bomb threats

Half a dozen schools in Thompson were evacuated following a series of bomb threats.

A series of bomb threats in Thompson, Man., forced the evacuation of six schools in the city on Tuesday.

RCMP first released details of the incident around 1:30 p.m., confirming officers were responding to the situation. An hour later, police said all schools have been cleared and no suspicious packages were found.

In a Facebook post, the School District of Mystery Lake, which serves six elementary and one high school in Thompson, said it is aware of the threat to its facilities.

The school district added that classes are cancelled for Tuesday afternoon. Parents are asked to pick up their children.

CTV News has reached out to the school district and will provide more information as it becomes available.

The investigation continues and no arrests have been made.
