Mounties say a Winnipeg man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was arrested on New Year’s Eve. A media release sent Tuesday from RCMP said Mounties received information on Dec. 30 that Brock Mann, a 25-year-old from Winnipeg, was hiding at a home in Black River First Nation. Mann was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching statutory release conditions and was unlawfully at large. The information said he may have a firearm in his possession. Powerview detachment, Manitoba RCMP East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team, Police Dog Service, and the Emergency Response Team were called in. When officers arrived at the home on Sesame Crescent around 4:30 p.m., they found Mann. RCMP said Mann refused to exit the home, and officers deployed tear gas. The release said Mann was then arrested without further incident. He remains in custody. RCMP alleged officers found a loaded firearm in the residence and seized it. The charges and allegations against Mann have not been tested in court. RCMP continue to investigate.
