House, fire truck caught on fire

A house and a fire truck caught on fire Saturday morning.

Around 4 a.m., firefighters were sent to a two-storey house on Silver Springs Bay in Winnipeg’s Eaglemere neighbourhood.

Smoke and flames were coming from the house when crews arrived. Firefighters fought the fire from inside the house and brought it under control about 30 minutes later.

Everyone inside the house safely evacuated before firefighters’ arrival.

Engine on fire

Around 9 a.m., a fire broke out in the engine compartment of a fire truck near the intersection of Osborne Street and Morley Avenue.

Crews found the fire after returning from a call, the city said in a media release.

Dispatchers sent another fire truck to the scene and fire crews quickly put out the fire.

The two fires are under investigation and no one was injured.
