A vacant house near Winnipeg’s Spence neighbourhood caught on fire. At 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters were sent to the building in the 500 block of Sherbrook Street. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the house and crews switched between offensive and defensive strategies to fight the fire. An aerial ladder was used to spray water from the top. The fire was brought under control at 9:11 a.m. and no injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation.
