A Windsor doctor has donated $100,000 to cancer care in Windsor, honouring his late wife. Dr. David Boyer made the donation in memory of his wife, Robin Boyer, who passed away in July 2025 from cancer. Boyer is the former Chief of the Emergency Department at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), and he still cares for patients in the emergency department at the Met and Ouellette hospital campuses. He has given $50,000 to the WRH Foundation’s inpatient oncology program and the other $50,000 to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. The generous donations will help fund vital equipment, like vein finders, and find staff wellness initiatives and education opportunities for oncology nurses. “Robin’s primary goal through this donation was to make the jobs and lives of the nurses easier, which would in turn, enhance the care and comfort of future patients,” Boyer said. “It is a privilege to fulfill Robin’s wish and support the remarkable teams who cared for her during her treatment.” Robin received treatment at the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and the Met Campus’ 4North and 4West units. The WRH Foundation and the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation express their gratitude to Boyer and the entire family for the donation.
