Ontario invests $1 million in CKHA diagnostic imaging

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has received $1 million from the Ontario government to put towards diagnostic imaging.

The money will go towards a bigger CT operational capacity, helping to address CT scan wait times.

“The provincial government’s investment supports improved access to our CT scans for our patients,” said Adam Topp, president and CEO of CKHA.

“By increasing our operational hours, we are making a clear commitment to reducing wait times and ensuring our patients receive the care they need, when they need it, and where they need it.”

Both inpatients and outpatients get regular screenings and testing done at CKHA. In a year, it does 24,000 CT scans on average.

“This funding allows the team to build on the high-quality care already provided at CKHA while moving closer to the provincial target,” said Cynthia Stulp, manager of diagnostic imaging.

“This will ensure the department can meet the community’s needs more efficiently, keeping ‘Our focus is YOU’ at the center of every scan.”
