LaSalle Sabres dedicate game to friend battling leukemia

The LaSalle Sabres U8 hockey team dedicated their first home game of the season to their friend Cullen Flood, who played hockey with many of the players on the team.

Cullen was recently diagnosed with a form of leukemia. He’s receiving care in London.

There’s a GoFundMe page to help the family with expenses.

The Sabres had balloons on their bench. Players taped up their sticks and wore a cancer ribbon as a gesture of compassion and support.

“We have a fantastic community when it comes to when anybody is sick, especially when we talk about the word cancer, we come together and that’s what we’re doing today,” said assistant coach Chris Werstein.
