$176,000 invested into Tecumseh Transit by Ontario

Ontario has invested in Tecumseh Transit, pledging $176,000.

The province has pledged $176,470 to put into Tecumseh Transit.

It will be used to expand service hours, increase routes, buy new vehicles, and improve accessibility.

“With transportation costs on the rise, this funding will be well spent on keeping our transit system operating effectively, which includes improving and maintaining the town’s electric bus fleet to ensure Tecumseh residents have eco-friendly, accessible, and reliable transportation well into the future,” said Gary McNamara, mayor of Tecumseh.

“These investments further the town’s goals of reducing our carbon footprint and reliance on non-renewable energy sources.”

The investment into Tecumseh Transit comes alongside a $380 million investment across Ontario.

“I am pleased to see the Government of Ontario’s investment in Tecumseh’s reliable and accessible transit system,” said Andrew Dowie, Windsor-Tecumseh MPP.

“This support will enhance connectivity, improve access to essential local services, and make it easier for residents to travel safely and efficiently throughout Tecumseh’s borders and beyond.”
