Victoria Weather | Local Victoria and Vancouver Island Conditions | CTV News VI

“The colder days are looming but we have a few days before it arrives. While we continue to see steady seasonal temps until Sunday we’ll also see some moisture and the wind picks up this weekend.

The next round of showers will roll through Greater Victoria late Thursday night, around 10 p.m., and take us into the early hours of Friday. Rain should be done by 5 a.m.

Into Saturday we’ll start to notice the shifting of patterns with the jetstream sliding out farther into the Pacific and allowing that huge Arctic mass of cold air to start leaking over the island.

Saturday morning some showers will move north and roll through the southern tip of the island, including Greater Victoria, Nanaimo and surrounding areas. There won’t be much rain as it moves out by early afternoon.

With the p.m. hours we'll notice the wind pick up and with it the chill. We’ll see an Arctic outflow as everything moves in from the northeast with gusts in the 50-60 km/h range. That push moves the cold air in and it’ll stay through next week.”
