6 cougars killed near Victoria after attacks on sheep farms
Conservation officers have captured and killed six cougars near Victoria this year in response to multiple predatory attacks on sheep farms.

"It’s a Groundhog Day forecast this week. We’ll basically see the same day over and over through the weekend. With a ridge of high pressure off the west coast of Vancouver Island we’ll see stable and steady conditions with seasonal temperatures. Highs in the high teens to low 20s and lows from 9 to 12 degrees. There is a low pressure system spinning in the Gulf of Alaska and the cold front associated with it could bring some showers Tuesday afternoon and evening for the very northern spots on the island, including Port Hardy. Otherwise the ridge will keep the moisture away and the consistent conditions and temperatures rolling into June. Plan your outdoor activities without worry for the next 10-14 days."
