Mounties say they are not recommending charges against a driver who crashed into the entrance of a pet store in Nanaimo Thursday morning. The Nanaimo RCMP says the incident occurred at Brooks Landing Mall just after 10:30 a.m. “Investigators were able to determine that the driver had continued through a parking stall, drove over the sidewalk then came to a stop after striking the front of the business,” the detachment wrote in a news release. Police say the crash caused “significant damage” to the front of the vehicle and shattered the front window of the store. The driver, described as a “mature female,” was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police, who added there was no indication she was impaired. No pedestrians were injured in the incident.
