Authorities are asking witnesses to come forward after a 68-year-old woman was struck and killed in Burnaby, B.C., Monday evening. Burnaby RCMP said emergency crews responded to the collision at Pender Street and MacDonald Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m. and found the victim seriously injured. “She received emergency medical aid at the scene and was transported to hospital but did not survive,” the detachment said in a news release Tuesday. “The driver stayed at the scene and is co-operating with the investigation.” The RCMP said members of its Criminal Collision Investigation Team and Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are still working to piece together the circumstances leading up to the crash. Authorities asked any potential witnesses—or anyone with surveillance or dash-cam video captured in the area between 6:25 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Tuesday—to contact the Burnaby detachment.
