Man charged with internet luring, possession of child sexual abuse material: Vancouver police

Nearly two years after a Vancouver mother reported an adult man solicited intimate photos from her teenage daughter online, a suspect has been charged.

Geordie Roxburgh, 36, is charged with one count of internet luring of a person under the age of 16, one count of possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and one count of unlawful firearm possession, the Vancouver Police Department announced Tuesday.

The investigation began in April of 2024, when a mother learned her daughter was “communicating with an adult man via text messages,” the statement from the VPD said, adding “the mother also learned that the man had allegedly requested intimate photographs from her daughter in exchange for money.”

Roxburgh was arrested in December of 2024, and charges were sworn last month, police said. He is next due in court on May 5. Police did not say whether he is in custody.
