Photos show more confiscated items and weapons at Saskatoon hospital

Recently released images show yet another collection of contraband items that were confiscated from those who entered Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital.

A hacksaw, machete, hatchet, golf club, and crowbar are all pictured in addition to several other switchblades and other types of knives.

According to the Saskatchewan NDP, these items were all obtained from patrons of the hospital prior to the recent installation of metal detectors in the facility.

Late last week during a news conference, the Saskatchewan NDP and SEIU-West highlighted the large quantities of weapons being brought into the hospital, unveiling four tables full of knives, machetes along with other sharp objects and potentially harmful items.

Additionally, an air pistol, a bag of ammunition, bear spray and even a pair of nunchucks were among the seizures.

According to the NDP, each table represented one month of items seized.
