Prince Albert police are investigating a taxi driver after a passenger’s video alleging inappropriate behaviour gained attention on Facebook

Prince Albert police are investigating alleged inappropriate behaviour from a taxi driver after a passenger’s video garnered attention on Facebook.

The original Facebook post alleges that the taxi driver exposed themselves to a customer during a ride over the weekend.

On Tuesday, the Prince Albert Police Service released a statement that it began investigating following a third-party complaint in relation to the video posted online.

In the video, the driver can be heard repeatedly asking the passenger to stop recording the interaction.

In a statement, the police service said both the original poster and the taxi company have been contacted and the investigation is ongoing.

Checker & Family Taxi manager Pardeep Kumar told CTV that the driver had been working at the company for about six months at the time of the incident and was removed from the road when the company was made aware of the video. He said the company identified the driver by his voice.

Kumar declined to make an official statement but said passengers are allowed to record in the vehicle and all vehicles have company cameras inside. Company drivers are required to submit criminal record checks when they are onboarded.

He said video from the taxi has been handed over to police.
