Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is warning residents in Saskatchewan’s southeast to be on the lookout for extreme weather - including tornadoes. A tornado warning was issued just prior to 3 p.m. Monday - which affected the areas surrounding Lampman and Alameda. A thunderstorm was being tracked in the area and was possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall were also listed as possible. However, the warning was promptly cancelled just after 3 p.m. The warning came as much of the province’s southeast corner is subject to a special weather statement - due to conditions being favourable to the development of funnel clouds. As of 3 p.m., the area extends as far north as Wolseley and Whitewood and as far west as Pangman and Milestone.
