One lucky Saskatchewan Roughriders fan went home with nearly $800,000 after the team’s annual Labour Day Classic. According to the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation, a fan named Karen purchased the winning ticket (SR4-1690120) for the $1.59M 50/50. The lucky winners take home $797,220. The $1.59M jackpot represents a regular season record, according to the foundation. Linebacker Jameer Thurman informed Karen and her family of the win in a video posted to social media by the Rider Foundation. Sunday’s matchup saw the Riders fight the Bombers to the bitter end, squeaking out a 32-26 overtime victory. According to the team, the 2026 Labour Day Classic broke a Roughrider attendance record, with 34,352 fans reportedly piling into Mosaic Stadium to see the Green and White and Blue and Gold face off for their first of back-to-back games. Winnipeg hosts Saskatchewan in the annual Banjo Bowl game Sept. 12.
