The Regina Police Service is urging drivers to avoid several underpasses due to flooding. Police say flooding has occurred for the underpasses at Albert Street and Saskatchewan Drive, at Broad Street and Saskatchewan Drive and at Broad Street at Dewdney Avenue. Northbound and southbound traffic have been closed at these locations on Albert Street and Broad Street as a result. Regina was hit with a torrential downpour and thunderstorm on Sunday morning, causing issues like pooling water on residential streets. Local events such as the Lakeview Park Street Festival and Regina Pats Fan Fest were forced to cancel. The Connaught branch of the Regina Public Library was also forced to close due to flooding. Flooding in Lumsden The Town of Lumsden issued a flooding notice in light of a “significant” amount of rainfall on Sunday morning. According to the town, localized flooding has been observed in certain areas within the community. “Public Works staff are actively monitoring conditions and taking all steps available to help ensure water is moving as quickly as possible toward designated drainage locations,” read a social media post from the town.
