Regina police release details, ask for tips in human remains investigation

The Regina Police Service (RPS) is releasing more details after human remains were recently found buried outside a home in the city’s North Central neighbourhood.

After a week of investigating and an autopsy, RPS has now confirmed the buried remains found outside a home on the 1300 block of Retallack Street on June 9 belonged to a man.

The man stood approximately five feet, nine inches tall and was between the ages of 30 and 40 at the time of his death.

The remains were buried at the site for a minimum of five years, meaning the man died prior to 2021.

Lastly, at some point in the man’s life, he sustained a broken jaw which required surgical treatment.

According to police, this description matches no missing persons reported in the city.

“As such, we are appealing to the public to assist in identifying the deceased male,” RPS added.
